What the Service Includes

New York LLC Law §206 requires every new LLC to publish a notice of formation in two newspapers designated by its county clerk for six successive weeks, then file a Certificate of Publication with the Department of State. Our service handles every step:

How Our Service Model Works

We publish in all 62 New York counties

We publish wherever your LLC is designated. When your LLC's county is Manhattan, we publish in Manhattan. When it's Erie, we publish in Erie. Your existing county designation stays exactly as you chose it — whatever is on your LLC's record before publication is what stays after.

Self-contained — nothing about your LLC changes

Using LLC Publishers does not require appointing us as your registered agent, changing your service-of-process address, or modifying your LLC's record with NY DOS. Some services bundle publication with becoming your registered agent — the LLC's county, service-of-process address, and registered agent are updated to match the provider, with recurring annual fees thereafter. Those changes are never required to publish with us: we publish in all 62 New York counties, so your publication runs in the county your LLC is already in. We publish; we're done.

A one-time requirement deserves a one-time service

Publication under §206 is a one-time statutory requirement. We charge once, complete the publication, and the engagement ends — no subscription, no annual renewal. Your LLC is identical before and after: same registered agent, same service-of-process address, same designated county.

Every Type of New York LLC Publication

Publication isn't one-size-fits-all. We file the notice and the New York Department of State form for your entity type — and the price stays fixed per county.

Standard (domestic) LLCs

LLCs formed in New York. We publish the standard §206 notice of formation in your county's designated newspapers and file your Certificate of Publication.

Foreign LLCs

LLCs formed in another state — Delaware, Wyoming, Florida, and others — that are registering to do business in New York. Foreign LLC publication uses the longer Notice of Qualification under §802 of the NY LLC Law, which includes your home state, formation date, and home-state office address, so it's priced slightly higher per county.

Professional LLCs (PLLCs)

A PLLC publishes at the same fixed per-county price as a standard LLC — the notice is nearly identical. We prepare the DOS form automatically (DOS-1709 for a domestic PLLC, DOS-1710 for a foreign PLLC).

NYC LLC Publication — the Part Most Services Avoid

NYC counties work differently from the rest of the state of New York. Across the rest of New York State, each county clerk pre-designates the two newspapers every LLC must use. In New York City, there is no pre-set list — the county clerk assigns specific newspapers to each LLC individually. We coordinate with the clerk to obtain your assignment, work with the assigned newspapers through the 6-week run, collect the affidavits, and file your certificate — publication completed in your actual NYC county.

Optional: Change Your County Before Publishing

If the county on your Articles of Organization isn't the one you want — whether it's incorrect or you'd simply prefer to publish in a different county — we also offer a county change service. You designate the new county; we execute. We prepare and file the Certificate of Change (DOS-1359-f) with NY DOS, track it through to acceptance, and then automatically begin publication in your newly designated county — the whole sequence handled as one process, so you don't have to manage two separate filings. Because publication pricing is set per county, your price becomes that of the new county, which may be lower or higher than your original one.

NY LLC Publication Service — Questions & Answers

What does your NY LLC publication service include?▾

Everything required by NY LLC Law §206: verifying your LLC against the state database, identifying your county's designated newspapers (including the clerk's per-LLC assignment in NYC counties), drafting and placing the notice, the 6-successive-week run in a daily and a weekly newspaper, collecting both notarized affidavits of publication, and preparing and filing your Certificate of Publication with NY DOS. You receive the state-stamped certificate when it's complete.

How much does the NY LLC publication service cost?▾

Pricing is fixed per county. Each county's designated newspapers set their own advertising rates, which is why the price varies across New York — but your county's price is one complete, fixed amount, starting at $395 all-inclusive. Out of that fee we pay the newspapers for the 6-week run, the affidavit and notary fees, and the $50 state filing fee — there are no add-ons or recurring fees. Your county's exact price is shown on our pricing page.

How long does LLC publication take?▾

About 8–10 weeks end-to-end in every county. The 6-successive-week newspaper run is fixed by §206; scheduling, affidavit collection, and the state filing account for the rest.

Do I need to change my registered agent or county to use your service?▾

No. Our service is self-contained. We publish in the county already on your LLC's DOS record, and using us does not require appointing us as your registered agent, changing your service-of-process address, or modifying any other part of your LLC's record. Publication can be completed without changing the LLC's registered agent, service-of-process address, or county designation.

Do you serve all New York counties?▾

Yes — we serve all 62 New York counties, including the NYC boroughs, where we handle the county clerk's per-LLC newspaper assignment process directly.

Do you handle foreign LLCs and PLLCs?▾

Yes. We publish for standard (domestic) LLCs, foreign LLCs registering to do business in New York, and professional LLCs (PLLCs). Foreign LLC publication uses the longer Notice of Qualification under §802 of the NY LLC Law and is priced slightly higher per county; PLLC publication is the same fixed per-county price as a standard LLC. We prepare the correct DOS form for each — including DOS-1709 for a domestic PLLC and DOS-1710 for a foreign PLLC.

Can you change my LLC's county before publication?▾

Yes, as an optional add-on at your direction. We prepare and file the Certificate of Change (DOS-1359-f) with NY DOS, track it through acceptance, and then complete your publication in the newly designated county — one continuous process, handled end-to-end. What if my 120-day deadline has already passed?▾

Publication can still be completed after the 120-day window — the process is the same: publish for six weeks in the designated newspapers and file the Certificate of Publication. See our guide on missed publication deadlines for the details.
